Today’s discussions regarding the industrial action initiated by teachers’ unions were again rescheduled. The government will propose another date when it can meet the relevant entities, as students continue to wait for results.

According to the current Collective Agreement, staff still have until July 31st to send results for publication. However, many results ready for publication are being withheld from students as part of the industrial action.

As a result of the MUT (Malta Union of Teachers) and UMASA (University of Malta Academic Staff Association) directives, students will have less time to study for resits and apply for revisions of paper.

The University Students Council (KSU) will continue following the dispute and pressuring the institutions involved. It will also continue to hear complaints from frustrated students, with almost 700 complaints received so far via the council’s website.
