The University registrar has released a call for nominations for the November student representative elections, which shall be held on the 7th of the upcoming month.
According to the registrar’s announcement, elections shall be held for places on all faculty boards with exceptions for the faculties of Laws and Health Sciences, whose boards hold no vacancies. Elections shall also be held for representatives at 10 of the University’s institutes, 5 centres and the newly-founded School of Performing Arts.
Moreover, all students are eligible to vote for representatives on the Senate and Council, the University’s academic and administrative decision-making entities.
The elections, which are held twice a year, call students from all faculties and institutes to elect one of their peers to represent them within the decision-making organs of their faculty, institute or centre. Each faculty or institute requires a minimum of two student representatives to facilitate communication between students, staff and the KSU education commission – in many cases, one of the student representatives must be a post-graduate student; all representatives are expected to serve a two year term after which their post would be vacated.
Students are expected to submit their nomination by Friday 25th October at the registrar’s office, with the full list of vacancies and application forms available on the university website. [Click Here]
