SDM Petition to Allow Students to Drink Water During Exams

Christian democrat students SDM have set up an online petition pledging for the MATSEC board to allow students to drink water during exams; MATSEC is responsible for the organisation of ordinary level and advanced level examinations.

Through a petition posted on change.org, SDM stated that the board should not exert measures which, given the students’ mind-set, would create additional difficulty for students.

The petition emphasized that students have been previously allowed this opportunity, affirming that exam duration and seasonal influences require the availability of water.

Commenting by means of the website, signatories lambasted the board for making the lives of students harder via such prevention, describing the action as ridiculous. At the time of writing, 236 out of 500 signatures had been collected.
